Leisure Apprentice

CV Life is seeking to employ a number of enthusiastic individuals wanting to earn whilst they learn on our level 3 apprenticeship programme working with Aspire Training Solutions.

The ideal candidates for this position will be hardworking, self-motivated, and able to show initiative and work well as part of a team, and have a flexible attitude to work.

Duties include assisting with supervision of the public, ensuring facilities are used in a safe and responsible manner, whilst maintaining tidiness and hygiene of swimming pool; dry sports facilities and auxiliary areas.

Qualifications during this apprenticeship will include:

  • Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer
  • Level 2 Award in Multi Skills Development in Sport
  • RLSS module

Successful candidates will get 20% taken off job hours for coursework time.

Overall purpose and objective of the role:

To assist the Duty Manager in the daily operation of the Sports Centre facilities and activities, and to undertake training and successfully achieve the following qualifications:-
• Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer
• Level 2 Award in Multi-skills Development in Sport
• RLSS Lifeguarding

Main Duties of the Role

  • To work towards a recognised lifeguard qualification in order to carry out duties on the Centre’s swimming pool.
  • To assist with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the Centre and its surrounding site at all times.
  • To continually refer to booking sheets and erect / dismantle equipment as appropriate.
  • To become familiar with the various procedures of reception duties, including all administrative aspects of record keeping and filing.
  • To assist with the re-stocking of vending machines as required.
  • To visit venues outside the Centre as required to promote the activities of the Company.
  • To patrol the building regularly and report any problems / breakages to the Duty Manager.
  • To attend any relevant meetings and forums as required.
  • To assist in emergency situations in accordance with the procedures detailed in the company’s Health and Safety policy.
  • To undertake and complete all training and studies, meeting deadlines as required.

• Able to work unsociable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
