Recreation Attendant

CV Life is seeking to employ an enthusiastic individual to undertake duties as a Recreation Attendant.

The ideal candidate for this position will be hardworking, self-motivated, able to show initiative and will work well as part of a team.

Duties include assisting with activity change overs, supporting operational staff, building checks, maintain high standards of cleanliness around wet and dry side facilities, setting up equipment across the centre, and dealing with customer enquiries. The centre has a full and varied activity programme so an ability to prioritise tasks is essential.

The principal place of employment will be Xcel Leisure Centre and the successful applicants will be required to work days, early mornings, evenings and weekends, therefore a flexible attitude to shift work is essential.

Reporting to: Duty Manager

Scope

Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry Trust are operating as CV Life, so that the scope of this Job Description as a CV Life document extends to cover the employment of employment contracts held with either Coventry Sports Foundation or Culture Coventry Trust.

Overall purpose and objective of the role:

To assist the Duty Manager in the daily operation of the SportCentre’s facilities and activities.

Main Duties of the Role

  1. To assist with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the Centre and its surrounding site at all times.
  2. To continually refer to booking sheets and erect/dismantle equipment as appropriate.
  3. To gain experience and obtain governing body qualifications in a range of sports/activities.
  4. To provide assistance in aspects of coaching and session delivery.
  5. To provide assistance for the care of under 5’s Centre’s Crèche.
  6. To contribute to the professional development and guidance of Further Education and Work Placement students.
  7. To become familiar with the various procedures of reception duties, including all administrative aspects of record keeping and filing.
  8. To assist with the re-stocking of vending machines as required.
  9. To visit venues outside the Centre as required to promote the activities of the Company.
  10. To patrol the building regularly and report any problems/breakages to the Duty Manager.
  11. To attend any relevant meetings and forums as required.
  12. To assist in emergency situations in accordance with the procedures detailed in the Company’s Health and Safety policy.
