Our Modern Apprenticeships are designed to introduce people into the working world of leisure: Apprenticeships Schools & Community Apprenticeships, Leisure Apprenticeships and Swimming Apprenticeships.
All our apprenticeships provide you with the opportunity to enter into a wide range of career paths and further education. This could include employment with CV Life, external companies or even going to University with the qualifications you will obtain.






Level 2 award as Leisure Team Member
Level 2 certificate as a Community Activator Coach.
Level 4 Award Sports Coaching.
Hours per week:
37.5 hours – Leisure
30 hours – Swim/Schools
This apprenticeship is based primarily within our swim team. We run two learn to swim programmes, a schools based swim program and Aquarius which is our community swim programme with lessons taking place in evenings and weekends.
You will also gain the experience of coaching and running holiday camps. In these sessions you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of children delivering different sports activities, crafts and looking after the wellbeing of children in our holiday camps.
As well as your level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship you will also gain the following qualifications:
This is a full time apprenticeship and shifts will include evenings and some weekends.
This apprenticeship typically lasts 12 – 15 months
After this apprenticeship you will have the skills and experience to continue working within the sector as a swim teacher or assistant sports coaching roles.
There are additional and higher level swim teaching qualifications opening up a wider range of water based activities to teach and also progression to managing staff and swim programs to help you progress in the swim teaching sector. Or you could look to complete higher level sports coaching qualifications
This apprenticeship is based within one of our community leisure centres. It aims to give you experience in all areas of working in a sports centre. You will get to work in a variety of roles and undertake very varied duties.
As well as your level 2 leisure team member apprenticeship you will also gain the following qualifications:
This is a full time apprenticeship and shifts will be varied to reflect the opening times of our centres including some weekends.
This apprenticeship typically lasts 12 – 15 months
After this apprenticeship you will have the skills and experience to continue working within the sector in many different roles such as lifeguard, customer service assistant, gym instructor, swim teacher or with further training look to progress in to more senior roles such as a duty manager.
This apprenticeship is based in our Community Development team. In this role you can expect to be working across a variety of community sites and our leisure centres.
This is a varied role where you can expect to be supporting and leading PE lessons in schools, running community based sports and activity sessions in our centres or other community sites.
You will coach a wide range of sports and activity that is in line with the schools curriculum.
Whilst the role is primarily working with children and young people, through our other community based programs you may also have the opportunity to support adults with accessing sports and activity.
This is a year round role and during the school holidays you will be working in our holiday camps.
As well as your level 4 Sports Coach apprenticeship you will also attend in house training. You may also have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and gain additional qualifications in certain sports or activities.
This is a full time apprenticeship and shifts will include evenings.
This apprenticeship typically lasts 18 months.
After this apprenticeship you will have the skills and experience to continue as a sports coach.
This qualification will also open the entry routes to sports based degrees, or more targeted qualifications within coaching. You could also progress into other roles working in schools, youth work or community projects.
