Online swimming enrolments now being taken online at Xcel Leisure Centre

Xcel Centre’s Aquarius Swim School is now taking online enrollments.

Previously new swim students were required to book on to lessons onsite which could be inconvenient and occasionally led to long queues at reception. But from Wednesday 24 January, parents will be able to enrol their young swimmers from the comfort of their own homes.

The move is the latest development that sees the growth of CV Life’s online portfolio which already includes gym membership enrolment, plus class and swim session bookings.

The new system, which includes direct debit set up, is exclusive to new enrolees only. Those signing up will be able to make the most of some fantastic benefits, including 10% off hot drink purchases at Xcel’s Cofa Cafe, £1 Stay and Play sessions weekdays between 4pm and 7pm, six complimentary water park passes and free public swimming at Xcel, Alan Higgs Centre and Centre AT7.

Nicola Walker, head of the Aquarius Swim School, said: “It’s been a long term goal to have online enrollment at the Xcel to make the process smoother and more convenient for everyone.

“Now we have it up and running, the plan is to make sure everything is in order before we eventually extend online enrollment to other CV Life swim centres such as Centre AT7 and Alan Higgs.

“With child swim figures on the decline in recent years, particularly after Covid, it’s important we remove barriers and make learning to swim as accessible as possible – so I’m excited by this new system Xcel and can’t wait to see it rolled out across the organisation.”

Suki Sahota, CV Life’s Corporate Programme Manager, said: “I’m very excited we’re able to make swimming enrollment simpler and more streamlined.

“In a modern society people expect to be able to book and enrol for courses on the go, through their phones or tablets, and this is something CV Life is very conscious of.

“So we’re very pleased we have been able to make enrolling for swimming lessons at Xcel even easier for our customers.”
