‘I want to make a lasting difference in these communities:’ Meet Go! Projects Coordinator Idora

CV Life is pleased to share news of the appointment of Idora Musa as the new Community Projects Coordinator, spearheading the Go Willenhall and Go Canley projects.

With a substantial amount of funding allocated for these initiatives, Idora is set to make a significant impact in the Coventry areas of Willenhall and Canley by encouraging communities to become more active, engaged, and socially connected.

Idora brings experience and passion to her new role. Her primary goal is to create sustainable programs that will continue to benefit the community long after the initial funding period has ended, with a vision for these projects to be centred around building a legacy of community engagement and support.

“I want to make a lasting difference in these communities, I want to help better people’s lives and offer support they need,” Idora said. “But I’m also focused on sustainability – we have two years worth of funding, but what I want is for the groundwork to be done so that the community will be able to carry on with what we started going forward. I want to build that legacy.”

Idora emphasises the importance of building relationships and trust within the community to ensure the success of these projects. By actively listening to residents and offering help where needed, she aims to create programs that are both relevant and impactful.

Idora said: “To achieve my aims, I’ll need to build relationships and trust by listening and helping where I can. But I also plan to reach out to existing charities in those communities and build partnerships with those organisations already rooted in those areas.”

The Go Willenhall and Go Canley projects focus on a variety of activities designed to get residents moving and socially engaged. These initiatives might include day trips, outdoor activities, social events, and workshops aimed at improving overall well-being.

Idora’s plans to address not just physical health, but also mental and social well-being and with her at the helm, it is felt the Go Willenhall and Go Canley projects will thrive.

As these projects unfold, the community can look forward to an inclusive, dynamic and supportive environment with programming tailored to their needs, meaning everyone has the opportunity to get involved and make positive changes in their lives.

It is hoped Idora’s skills and enthusiasm means a bright future for the Go Willenhall and Go Canley initiatives, leaving a lasting legacy of community empowerment and sustainability.
