Engage! Programme Secures Additional Funding to Continue Supporting Mental Health in Coventry Schools

CV Life’s Engage!  programme has received £35,000 in funding to continue its work in promoting positive mental wellbeing among Coventry’s young people.

The funding will enable the programme to continue delivering its Values and Flourish sessions, alongside the School 2 Club Programme as well as a series of festivals and competitions.

The initiative, which uses tag rugby as a means to support mental and physical wellbeing, is designed to help school-age children build key life skills while encouraging social inclusion. Through its work, Engage! aims to improve the educational, physical, and emotional development of children and young people across the city.

CV Life’s Business Process Manager Stuart Bird, who leads the programme, said: “We are delighted to receive this funding, which will allow us to continue offering valuable support to Coventry’s young people. The Engage! programme not only promotes physical activity but also helps to build confidence and emotional resilience. We look forward to expanding our reach and continuing to make a positive difference in schools across the area.”

The programme has several key objectives, including improving educational and social development, enhancing mental wellbeing, and helping children develop the skills and behaviours necessary for further education and employment. It also aims to promote rugby to non-traditional groups, fostering a sense of community and inclusion through the sport.
