Not only is the pool Olympic-sized, the floor also moves, just like the pool at Xcel Leisure Centre! This means it can be comfortably used by all swimming abilities – the floor can be raised to deck level for those who would like to paddle and can also be dropped all the way to 2 metres. 

The 50m pool will be ideal for all events, big or small, due to the high-tech scoring board and the 500-person viewing gallery.

Although the pool is large, you shouldn’t be intimidated by it. Occasionally it will be divided into smaller sections for particular swim sessions. The pool is available to all Lifestyles members along with the public too.

Pool Updates:

  • Please see below the following updates to our Pool Timetable throughout the year. During evented days, we recommend visiting Xcel Leisure Centre or Centre AT7. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    Unless stated below, no sessions on Saturday and Sundays will be taking place due to an external event.
  • Bank Holiday – Our centres will be opening between 9am to 6pm on Friday 3rd April and Monday 6th April.
  • Please note we do not offer online bookings for these sessions at this moment in time.

Notes:

(1)The whole pool may not be available during all sessions. (2)Must be a confident swimmer and be able to swim continuous laps. (3)Deep water only. (4) Shallow water only (½) Half Pool is used (¼) Quarter Pool is used (Class) Group Exercise class, follow prices in group exercise booklet *This session may be cancelled due to a party booking. Please check the website for further details.

  • All places are on a first come first served basis, bands will only be released 5 minutes prior the session.
  • On Bank Holiday, swim times may change.
  • The Foundation does not provide any flotation aids during public swimming sessions. Armbands can be purchased at Reception.
  • It is the responsibility of the adult who is attending with a junior or a carer, who is only there assist, someone in care to ensure they are supervised when attending these sessions.
  • Please ensure when attending with a child that you abide by our Adult to Child ratio, as per our swimming policy.
