The National Junior Para-Swimming Championships 2023 came to Coventry recently.
Dozens of potential future Paralympians took part in the prestigious event at the Alan Higgs Centre on June 18.
The Championships saw an incredibly high-standard of races across all events, with some of the most talented qualifying swimmers from across the country taking part.
Laura Williams, manager at Alan Higgs, said: “It was a fantastic event with over 100 superbly talented athletes taking part.
“Due to the standard of our facilities, including a 50 metre Olympic pool, we are able to host lots of galas throughout the year.
“But, there was something particularly special about hosting the National Junior Para-Swimming Championships 2023 and I’m incredibly proud we were able to support the event in partnership with Allied Alliance.”
Jannine Walker, Activity Alliance National Events Manager said: “It was fantastic to be back in Coventry for another National Junior Para-Swimming Championships. The two-day event was packed with incredible performances from so many talented swimmers. Congratulations to everyone heading home new personal bests and Activity Alliance medals.
“Every year we are proud to deliver the Championships in partnership with Swim England. This event is a great opportunity for young swimmers to experience a major event. It also acts as a pathway for those that want to go on and compete at the highest level.
“Our thanks go to our event partners – Alan Higgs Centre and CV Life, as well as Swim Coventry for their support. Their support is invaluable in ensuring we can put on such a successful event.”
