Hydro Rider Instructor – Maternity Cover

We’re looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Hydro Rider class instructor to cover our popular cycling exercise class in the water at Centre AT7.

Job Description

Reporting to: Group Fitness Coordinator

Scope

Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry are independent organisations who work collaboratively through CV Life, so that this Job Description as a CV Life document extends to cover the employment contracts held with either Culture Coventry Trust or Coventry Sports Foundation.

Overall purpose and objective of the role:

To assist the Fitness Operations Manager and ‘Lifestyles’ Manager in the daily operation of Group Exercise to Music Classes.

Main duties of the role:

  1. To plan, prepare and deliver safe, effective and engaging Group Exercise classes to a high standard, appropriate to the class format and the differing abilities, needs and fitness levels of participants, within the scope of the Instructor’s qualifications and Company procedures.
  2. To monitor and support participants throughout classes, providing clear instruction, appropriate exercise modifications, encouragement and motivation, whilst promoting an inclusive, welcoming and positive environment.
  3. To ensure appropriate Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times, including carrying out suitable checks of the studio and equipment, identifying and reporting hazards or defects, and ensuring equipment is used and stored safely.
  4. To follow all Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation, including those relating to Health & Safety, safeguarding, equality, customer care and emergency procedures, and to appropriately report accidents, incidents, injuries, concerns or near misses.
  5. To set up and dismantle equipment as required for classes and ensure the studio is left clean, tidy and ready for use following each session.
  6. To maintain high standards of customer care, responding appropriately to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints and contributing to the ongoing improvement of Group Exercise provision.
  7. To assist in promoting and publicising the Group Exercise timetable and associated activities, including representing and promoting the Company at external venues and events where required.
  8. To attend relevant training, refresher courses and meetings, and maintain all qualifications and professional standards required for the role.
  9. To maintain appropriate class and attendance records and provide relevant information to management, in accordance with Company procedures.
  10. To work collaboratively with colleagues across the Company’s facilities, sharing good practice, expertise and responsibilities and supporting the effective delivery and development of Group Exercise services.
  11. To maintain a professional appearance and approach at all times, promoting the work, values and public image of the Company through positive, respectful and professional conduct.
  12. To work at a range of sites operated or managed by the Company and undertake other duties appropriate to the level and general responsibilities of the post, as directed by Line or Senior Management.

  • To attend and fully engage with all internal training and development requirements and opportunities, and maintain such qualifications as required by the demands of the role.
  • To interact positively with customers adopting a friendly and professional approach at all times.
  • To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations when dealing with, maintaining, sharing and storing information.
  • To undertake other duties as specified, which are appropriate to the qualifications, experience and general level of the post.
