You will be responsible for managing, supporting and coordinating staff to ensure the high quality delivery of the projects. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead the coordination and delivery of the GO Canley and GO Willenhall projects, hosting community forums, building partnerships with key individuals and organisations, arranging events, and engaging with community members to elicit valuable insights. Identify new project ideas and opportunities across the community to engage more community members.
  • Team Leadership: Support staff to ensure a high quality delivery of programmes while adhering to deadlines and achieving project outcomes.
  • Community Integration: Develop meaningful and long-lasting relationships within the Canley and Willenhall communities, local stakeholders and the public.
  • Reporting and Fundraising: Generate regular reports for programme managers and funding organisations. Contributing to the sustainability and growth of community initiatives by identifying new funding streams and opportunities.
  • Budget Management: Responsible for project budgets and delivering against outcomes and objectives. Taking ownership of project logistics, data collection and reporting, partnership development, and event planning to drive project success.

Role is primarily based at the Xcel Centre with the need to travel between sites and carry equipment. Flexible working hours is needed to accommodate project demands, including occasional evening and weekend commitment. Scope

Coventry Sports Foundation and Culture Coventry Trust are operating as CV Life, so that the scope of this Job Description as a CV Life document extends to cover the employment contracts held with either Coventry Sports Foundation or Culture Coventry Trust.

Overall purpose and objective of the role

The purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate the delivery of the CV Life Community Projects  across Coventry. 

Main duties of the role:

  1. To oversee and coordinate a range of programmes and initiative as part of the CV Life Community Delivery Programme.
  2. To be responsible for managing, supporting, and coordinating staffing to ensure the high-quality delivery of community programmes.
  3. To be responsible and have oversight for budgetary and financial controls on specific programmes and projects. 
  4. To coordinate, collect and monitor a range of data for all projects and programmes. 
  5. To ensure programme and projects are delivered against their achievable outcomes, aims and objectives.
  6. To attend any community meetings required.
  7. To manage all delivery and project staff to ensure they are meeting set deadlines and outcomes, as well as completing regular 1:1 meetings and performance management. 
  8. To complete regular reports for funders, programme managers and in house reporting as and when required. 
  9. To work with the Community Development Officer on developing new programme ideas and identify new funding streams and opportunities.
  10. To identify new project ideas and opportunities in centre or across the community to engage more community members.
  11. To help promote and expand the work of the CV Life Community Development Team into new programme streams and communities across Coventry. 
  12. To work with local partners, community groups and other organisations to provide new and diverse activities and opportunities across Coventry. 
  13. To promote the work of CV Life in communities across Coventry
  14. To develop new programme and initiatives working alongside key partners and National Governing Bodies of Sport.

  • Able to manage a number of active programmes and deliver against agreed action plans, targets and objectives.

  • Ability to work as part of a team or own to meet the needs of the work programme.
  • Keen interest in developing bid writing and further project management.

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience of managing programmes and activities.
  • Understanding of the barriers faced by different community groups and users in looking to access regular provision or activities.

  • Managing staff and supporting them to deliver high quality programme and supporting their professional development.
  • Knowledge of National Governing Bodies of Sports and their Community Programme offers. 
  • Working with key stakeholders to deliver programmes, activities and opportunities in partnership
  • Managing funded programmes and working to predefined KPI, Objectives and targets.
  • Experience of delivering sessions to a range of different user’s groups including but not limited to children and young people, disadvantaged communities, and older people. 
  • Experience in developing relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience of using social media for promotion and as an engagement tool to reach disengaged and hard to reach community groups. 
  • Understanding of budget and finances and reporting on grant funded projects.

Essential Qualifications

  • First Aid at Work Qualification to be gained during employment.

Essential Special Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work using own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent time management and working to tight deadlines on occasion.

Special Circumstances

  • Ability to work unsociable hours including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
  • Ability to travel between sites and carry equipment

  • Enhanced DBS Clearance.
